Our wine for this first blog is a DeChaunac wine from Elgin County's Oldest Estate Winery, Quai Du Vin. It is a wine made of very different types of grape. It was bred about 200 years ago and later on introduced to Canadian farmers by one of the founders of the wine industry whose name is used to name the grape. What's the name? It's Adhemar de Chaunac, a pioneer in the Ontario wine industry. Now, that's a fine fact about wine. Mr. Adhemar should be known to Ontario winemakers.
Now about real estate... Being a real estate investor, usually starts with this type of investing that we'll be learning about. It is called "House Hacking". When keeping ownership of a house is just too expensive for you, this strategy can be of great help. When you own a spacious property, or maybe you have some extra space you may rent out a portion of it to receive periodic income. Cash flows in easily to you passively! This practice started when housing needs got too costly in the urban areas. Sharing your space means sharing the financial burden to others who are as well in need of something, in this instance it may be space.
